Job Description

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!

We're looking for a technically-minded product designer who is excited to shape how design, code, and AI-powered workflows come together at Figma. In this role, you'll improve how Figma understands production code and design systems, design workflows that move from design to code and back again, and extend Figma's agentic capabilities into developer tools and the places teams already work. You'll turn ambiguity into clarity alongside engineers, PMs, and researchers, bringing simplicity and craft to complex technical problems as we help define the future of how software is made.

This is a full-time role that can be held from our London hub or remotely within the UK.

What you'll do at Figma:

  • Shape and prototype new workflows that bring design and production code closer together, including AI-powered experiences that connect Figma with the tools teams already use to build
  • Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction
  • Help deliver and refine clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, UX writing, data science, and research peers
  • Create and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals, as well as provide thoughtful feedback for others doing the same so you can all do your best work
  • Design and ship high-quality features and product improvements in Figma's core product surfaces
  • Contribute to our design org's culture by participating in design critiques, mentoring peers, and sharing best practices across teams

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience designing UX and UI for software products of similar scale and complexity
  • Strong visual craft and attention to detail across composition, typography, layout, interaction design, and prototyping
  • Proven ability to independently drive end-to-end design processes from discovery through launch, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals
  • Ability to guide decision-making through structured thinking, clear design rationale, and user-centered research
  • Experience designing technically complex products, ideally developer tools or extensible platforms, with an understanding of software development workflows, APIs, and systems; experience prototyping and evaluating AI-powered or nondeterministic interactions is a plus

While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:

  • Familiarity with web technologies like HTML/CSS, AI coding tools such as Codex, Cursor, or Claude Code
  • A strong understanding of advanced Figma features like Auto Layout, Variables, and Components
  • Hands-on experience building with web technologies, APIs, CLIs, MCP, model evals, or other tools used to create developer and AI products
  • A history of working on canvas-based interfaces or tools that support creative workflows
  • Prior work involving design systems, like creating, maintaining, or contributing to a design system
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways.
