Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Designer to join our dynamic team in Stevenage. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for understanding the Clients’ needs and proactively identify solutions to their challenges and ensure consistent delivery of service excellence in meeting their needs and expectations.

  • To make sure the Client is aware of their duties under CDM 2015
  • Review existing H&S information and provide advice if additional surveys are required
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee the creation of the Design Risk Register
  • Assisting the client in identifying suitable project preconstruction information
  • Compilation of the Pre-construction information pack
  • Assurance of supplier appointment, advise on the competency for the role
  • Supply the Principal Contractor with the H&S information to inform their construction works
  • To liaise with the Principal Contractor throughout the construction phase
  • To compile the Health and Safety File

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ L6 in Health & Safety
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational H&S
  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate
  • Technical Member of IOSH
  • Certified Member of IOSH
  • Chartered Member of IOSH
  • APS Principal Designer
  • Extensive years + experience working on similar projects / programmes
  • Proficient in Design Risk Management
  • Proficient in the implementation of the Hierarchy of Controls to proposed designs.
  • Proficient in managing the H&S risk of the preconstruction stage
