Job Description

Job Description

Assent is the manufacturing industry's leading Product Intelligence Network, and we're growing fast. We recently acquired iPoint, expanding our reach in automotive and across Europe, and we're repositioning our brand to match where the business is headed.

We're looking for a Brand & Creative Manager to own that shift. This isn't about executing against a style guide. It's about shaping the visual identity of a company in the middle of real momentum. This is a hands-on creative lead role. You think like a designer, edit like a producer, and talk about brand like it's personal. You'll set the visual standard for the company and bring it to life, from campaign graphics to short-form video. And you'll do it while pushing our creative process forward with AI-powered tools.

This isn't a role for someone who waits for a brief. We want a builder. Someone who can take a rough idea, make strong creative decisions, and explain the why behind them with confidence. Someone who can ship polished work fast, in a company that's moving quickly on every front.

What You’ll Do

  • Own our visual identity across design, motion, and video as we roll out a company-wide brand refresh.

  • Design high-impact assets, including graphics, infographics, digital ads, presentations, and campaign creative that's both on-brand and performance-driven.

  • Edit and produce video and motion graphics content. Think social clips, sales enablement videos, and simple animated explainers.

  • Build and maintain templates for Assentees to use, and enable them on how to use them, and continuously updating/refreshing the templates as needs evolve and performance feedback requires

  • Use generative AI tools (like Adobe Firefly, Canva, Envato, Claude and others) to speed up production, test new creative directions, and scale output without sacrificing quality.

  • Present and defend your creative decisions to stakeholders and leadership. You can explain the strategy behind your work, not just the aesthetics.

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales and Customer Success to make sure every touchpoint reflects a consistent, evolving brand.

  • Build and maintain our brand guidelines and visual standards. Be the go-to person for how the brand should look, sound, and feel.

  • Bring a test-and-learn mindset. Experiment with new formats and tools, track what performs, and keep iterating.

  • Manage your own workload and priorities in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • About 5 years of experience in graphic design, with hands-on video editing and motion graphics skills. Agency or in-house, ideally B2B/SaaS.

  • A strong portfolio that spans design (graphics, infographics, digital ads) and video/motion work, including AI-assisted creative.

  • Confidence presenting your creative decisions. You can explain your rationale clearly to non-designers and leadership alike.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for brand. You want to own it, protect it, and evolve it, not just follow a style guide.

  • Comfort with generative AI tools as part of your everyday creative process, plus curiosity to keep testing new ones.

  • Proficiency with tools like Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Figma, and Adobe Firefly, as well as project management tools like Monday.com.

  • A fast-paced, fun, adaptable working style. You're energized by a busy, ever-changing environment, not overwhelmed by it.

  • Based in Canada, with a preference for candidates in the Ottawa area.

Bonus Points If You

  • Have led or contributed to a brand refresh, or built a visual system from the ground up.

  • Have a point of view on where AI and creative production are headed.

  • Have experience mentoring or directing other designers or freelancers.

  • Have experience working with a DAM solution to store work and final assets.
