Manager, Software Engineering - Design Systems Adherence at Figma

The role

As the Engineering Manager for Design Systems Adherence, you will lead a team building tools and quality feedback loops for Figmas AI agents. You will set the strategy for context engineering and evaluation frameworks to ensure AI-generated outputs correctly follow customer design systems.

What you'll do

• Lead and grow a team of six to eight engineers focused on design systems adherence.
• Coach engineers through career growth and technical leadership to build a culture of ownership.
• Evolve design system context to make guidelines and documentation actionable for AI.
• Set technical strategy for adherence measurement including high-fidelity evaluation datasets and quality rubrics.
• Build benchmarking tools and dashboards to track visual quality and latency.
• Partner with Product, Design, and AI Research teams to achieve business impact.

What you'll bring

• Three or more years of experience leading and growing high-impact engineering teams.
• Hands-on depth in building AI assistants and evaluation systems using large language models.
• Fluency with modern AI development workflows such as context management and dataset curation.
• Strong foundation in software engineering with a mindset for building scalable platform tools.
• Ability to set technical direction and drive cross-functional alignment in complex environments.
