Job Description

The Designer will be responsible for researching and interpreting emerging fashion and consumer trends, translating them into commercial products that reflect the Factory Outlet brand identity and meet customer expectations. By identifying new product opportunities and developing commercially relevant collections, the designer will play a key role in driving the evolution of the assortment while collaborating closely with Merchandising and Buying, and Product Development teams. According to their level of expertise, the designer will independently manage advanced design activities and contribute to strategic product decisions.

 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the design process from concept to completion, collaborating with the Buying and Product Development team to ensure alignment of priorities and direction.
  • Design and develop commercial products, planning the line according to fashion trends and sales needs.
  • Create and present mood boards for each season, showcasing silhouettes, fabrics, and details of styles.
  • Create and present technical flat sketches for tech packs to be handed over to product developers.
  • Select fabrics and trims for the developed styles.
  • Upload new styles on the internal PLM creating style codes, tech pack/BOM, for each new style in the line.
  • Continuous update of style status on the PLM during the different steps of the collection development (from sketch to sms).
  • Manage the sample fitting sessions in collaboration with PD team and pattern makers.
  • Support the visual team with seasonal product guidelines.
  • Visit trade shows and stores for market browsing if needed.
  • Visit suppliers and manufacturers if needed.
  • Work closely with the entire design team as well as Buyers, Brand Managers and other apparel division departments.

 

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Fashion and/or Design Arts.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in the same role and field.
  • Strong knowledge of fashion and emerging trends.
  • Strong attitude and understanding of fashion product, style, and graphic trends.
  • Creative, with a clear understanding of the brand DNA, and a very pragmatical approach.
  • Fashion eye with commercial awareness.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines and design calendar.
  • Dynamic personality, fast thinker, positive attitude.
  • Availability for traveling if needed.
  • Sense of urgency and flexibility
  • Fluent English.
  • Good knowledge of computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe CS software, including Illustrator and Photoshop
  • 3D design skills preferred (Clo 3D).
