Design Engineer

Job Description

We're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions that balance technical excellence, material efficiency, and manufacturing feasibility. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into robust, customer-focused designs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision.

• Develop and optimize design solutions considering technical requirements, material properties, manufacturing constraints and economic factors
• Perform comprehensive design calculations, including tolerance analysis and functional verification, utilizing industry-standard methodologies such as DRBFM and DMFA to identify and mitigate technical risks
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including 2D drawings, 3D models, bills of materials and design guidelines that meet organizational and customer specifications
• Collaborate effectively with technical leads, testing engineers, production planners, sales, quality management and process development teams to ensure seamless design implementation
• Manage design schedules and deliverables according to project timelines, demonstrating strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting milestones
• Support both platform and customer-specific application projects, providing innovative solutions that enhance product performance and manufacturability

Qualifications

**Education:**

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline

**Experience:**

• 2 - 4 years of professional experience in design of automotive components or related mechanical design roles
• Demonstrated experience with design methodologies and technical problem-solving

**Skills & Technical Competencies:**

• Proficiency in CAD tools (CREO or equivalent design software)
• Strong capability in 2D drafting, 3D modeling and assembly design
• Knowledge of design calculations, tolerance analysis and functional verification
• Familiarity with design methodologies & tools including DRBFM, DMFA, Focus analysis and 8D
• Solid understanding of mechanical, automotive components and product structures
• Basic knowledge on standards/norms, Geometrical Dimension & Tolerating, Design, material,
  reliability
• Basic knowledge of IC engines and connected systems, Manufacturing, quality and procurement
  process of auto components
• Basic knowledge of measurement systems, testing and calibration equipment and measurement
  procedure
