We are looking for a Freelance Automotive CAD Senior Designer / Team Leader to join our team and support an important customer.
The candidate should have at least 10 years of professional experience, including prior experience with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier in component and system development, with a proven track record of successfully meeting their responsibilities.
Specifically, it is mandatory to have a relevant technical experience on at least one of these 4 specific areas:
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the technical activities of an international cross-functional team, in order to secure the components and systems official release
Support the building of the CAD physical models of the vehicle and their sub-systems
Maturate the CAD models adjusting the architecture, feasibility, materials and thicknesses based on the validation feedback
Guarantee the correct release of the CAD data into the customer Teamcenter
Provide technical documentation & drawings and participate to reviews of designed systems
Define and achieve the technical scope for each system, ensuring that it meets all legal requirements and project specification targets
Drive the Engineering Change Management process
Support the physical build phases and drive the problem solving process for engineering and quality issues.
Manage suppliers with a cross-functional team of Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and the other OEM Business Unit involved in the process
Understanding of the design, weight, cost, and quality constraints of various materials used within the scope and their manufacturing processes
Execute and present the project reports to management and customers
