Role Overview

Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Design Systems team. This role involves managing a team of front-end engineers, contributing to the growth and scaling of their design system, and collaborating with design, product, and engineering teams to deliver user-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of 5-6 Front End Engineers, focusing on individual growth and team quality.
• Provide technical feedback to ensure alignment with Datadog's engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with Design, Product, and Engineering teams to implement design components and promote design system value.
• Define a technical roadmap that aligns product goals with the team's mission, prioritizing user needs.
• Lead the scaling and maintenance of a large, multi-product design system.
• Participate in hands-on work, including code reviews, design reviews, and some coding.

Requirements Snapshot

• Proven experience in people management of Front End-focused engineering teams.
• Experience developing and scaling design systems or a deep understanding of component-based design patterns.
