Role

We’re seeking a data-informed and highly analytical Level Designer who is passionate about building scalable puzzle systems. You are not just a creator of levels, but an architect of the player's journey through the content. You will be laser-focused on designing and balancing the feel and challenge of the levels that can entertain millions of players for the long term. As the driving force behind the game's level-based progression, you'll leverage both creative design and quantitative insights to ensure Gear Fight becomes our next global hit.

  • Balance the game's long-term difficulty curve across chapters, missions, and waves to manage player pacing, challenge, and skill progression.

  • Own the player's content journey from a holistic perspective, defining how and when new mechanics, enemies, and interactive elements are introduced to maintain long-term interest.

  • Documentation - Document level designs using diagrams, flowcharts, and spreadsheets to communicate your concepts effectively within the team

  • Collaborate to Create: Ensure your designs adhere to technical constraints and opportunities presented by our game engine, while working closely with our team of artists, animators, and programmers to ensure your level designs are fully realized.

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders - General Manager, Game Design Director & Product Managers to seamlessly integrate monetization and reward systems into the level progression, ensuring they feel natural and value-additive to the player experience.

  • Utilize player feedback, analytics and A/B testing frameworks to rigorously evaluate level performance. You will be expected to interpret data to identify points of friction, re-balance content, and validate your design hypotheses.

  • Design levels that intuitively teach game mechanics through gameplay, reducing the reliance on explicit tutorials and fostering a sense of discovery for the player.

Profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in Level Design on a successful live-operated F2P casual puzzle game.

  • Deep understanding of F2P mobile game economies, player progression systems, and retention strategies.

  • Proven experience using analytics and A/B testing to make data-driven design decisions. Your portfolio should not only show final levels but also demonstrate your process, such as balancing spreadsheets, difficulty modeling, or case studies of data-informed improvements.

  • A systems-thinking approach; you must be able to articulate how a new mechanic or level element will impact game balance, the economy, and player psychology on a systemic level.

  • Strong experience or deep knowledge of Tower Defense and/or light RPG mechanics, particularly concerning unit balance, strategic placement, and progression systems

  • A degree in game design, computer science, or a related field would be beneficial.

  • An experience or knowledge of Tower Defense or RPG games is a plus.
